U.N. Independent Expert Cites China Center Senior Fellow

In a recently published report on conversion therapy practices globally, the U.N. Independent Expert on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity cited a submission by Paul Tsai China Center Senior Fellow Darius Longarino on developments in China.

According to Longarino, survivors of conversion therapy in China have brought successful litigation against practitioners, but since damage awards have been low they have done little to curb the conversion therapy industry. The Independent Expert will present the report to the U.N. Human Rights Council this month.
