Few law teachers go directly from their J.D. program or clerkships and into a law teaching position. Many will opt for a fellowship programs or an appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor to give them the time and support needed to write and publish. Professor Emma Kaufmann '15 was a Bigelow Fellow at Chicago before joining the faculty at NYU Law School where she also oversees academic fellowship programs.
