Please join Nicholas Mignanelli and Kathryn James for the last event of the Legal Information & Book history series, a companion workshop to the Library's current exhibition, Race, Slavery, & the Founders of Yale Law School. This meeting will be held at the Beinecke Library, to view the account books kept by YLS co-founder Samuel J. Hitchcock in his early-nineteenth-century New Haven law practice. All are welcome; we'll meet at the Beinecke Library entrance desk at 12:10.

Alfred Brownell is a Tom and Andi Bernstein Visiting Human Rights Fellow at the Schell Center for Human Rights at Yale Law School and Founder of Global Climate Legal Defense Network. He is an internationally recognized environmental rights activist and lawyer from Liberia. Brownell has advocated for more than two decades to protect the environment and human rights in West Africa and to empower Liberians and West Africans victimized by resource exploitation.
