Anat Leshnick

Anat Leshnick holds a PhD from the Media Studies Department at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research explores how images shape global discourses about war and conflict in the digital battlefield. Her dissertation examined how different political actors, like militaries and activists, use images strategically to claim narrative authority over traumatic events and what this means for social justice and human rights in the digital era. Dr. Leshnick has published her work in top Media and Communication journals including the International Journal of Communication, Media, Culture & Society and New Media & Society. Leshnick holds an MA in Communication from the University of Haifa and a BA in Communication from Sapir College.
