Eric Posner headshot

Eric A. Posner is a Visiting Professor of Law at Yale Law School and the Kirkland and Ellis Distinguished Service Professor of Law at the University of Chicago Law School. From 2022 to 2023, he served as Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Earlier in his career, Posner also served as an Attorney Adviser in the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel. Posner began his academic career as an Assistant Professor of Law at The University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. He has also held visiting appointments at Columbia Law School and New York University School of Law. The author or co-author of more than a dozen books, Posner has written frequently in such publications as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Atlantic. He clerked for the Honorable Stephen F. Williams of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Posner is a Council Member of the American Law Institute.
