Orkhan Abdulkarimli is an LL.M. candidate at Yale Law School, where he serves as the Executive Editor of the Yale Journal of Law and Technology (YJoLT). His primary research focuses on the intersections of law, technology, and ethics, including cybercrimes, cybersecurity law, artificial intelligence, international law, and legal philosophy. Orkhan earned his LL.B. in Law from Baku State University.
During his undergraduate studies, Orkhan founded and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Baku State University Law Review. He also led several student initiatives, including the Topchubashov Moot Court Competition and the Legal Discussion Forum. In recognition of his academic excellence and leadership, Orkhan received numerous awards and honors.
Before coming to Yale, Orkhan worked as a senior investigating judge. In this role, he handled high-profile cross-border cybercrime cases. He represented Azerbaijan in international forums such as the United Nations Ad Hoc Committee on Cybercrime, where he served as the country’s lead negotiator. Additionally, he authored a comprehensive guide for law enforcement agencies in Azerbaijan on the criminal investigation of cybercrimes.
