Pierre Gentin

Pierre Gentin is a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School and Chief Legal Officer at the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Gentin manages McKinsey’s Legal and Public Affairs functions and advises its management team and board. In 2022, The Financial Times named Gentin, the first nonconsultant to be named a Senior Partner in McKinsey’s history, as one of the world’s top legal leaders in business. Prior to his appointment at McKinsey, Gentin was a Partner at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP from 2015 to 2019 and a Managing Director at Credit Suisse from 1998 to 2015. Gentin served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 1995 to 1998. A recipient of the Anti-Defamation League’s Human Relations Award, Gentin currently serves as a trustee of the Practicing Law Institute, the Touro Synagogue Foundation, and Princeton University’s Center for Public Policy and Finance. His past service includes terms on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Councils on Faith, on Values in Decision-Making, and on the Role of Business. He holds an A.B. from Princeton University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
