After a three-year hiatus, Yale Law School’s Alumni Weekend 2022 will welcome more than 1,000 graduates and guests back to campus from Oct. 21 to 23.

On Friday, a dedication ceremony will be held for Carol and Gene Ludwig Hall (formerly known as the Cottages), the newly-renovated home of The Tsai Leadership Program. After that, Reginald Dwayne Betts ’16 performs Felon: An American Washi Tale, his one-man play that recounts his personal experience of incarceration and uncovers “the disturbing ways that prison touches us all.” A slate of “Amicus Briefs” — short, provocative presentations by YLS faculty and alumni changemakers — will be offered on Friday and Saturday.

A welcome reception, champagne toast, and dinner celebrating the combined fiftieth reunion classes of 1970, 1971, and 1972 will take place on Friday evening with Dean Heather K. Gerken and Sterling Professor Emeritus of Law Guido Calabresi ’58.

Highlights on Saturday include Dean Heather K. Gerken’s presentation of the Award of Merit to Professor Catharine A. MacKinnon ’77, Elizabeth A. Long Professor of Law at the University of Michigan Law School and the long-term James Barr Ames Visiting Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. Gerken will also present the award posthumously to professors Pauli Murray ’65 JSD and Deborah L. Rhode ’77. Following the all-alumni luncheon, Sen. Cory Booker ’97 of New Jersey and Sen. Chris Coons ’92 of Delaware will join Dean Gerken for a timely conversation.

The weekend concludes on Sunday with class brunches for reunion years. View the full weekend schedule, attendees, and more at the Alumni Weekend 2022 website
