Barkan Draws Attention to the Impact of Tax Bill with Emotional Plea to Senator

Last year, Ady Barkan ’10, an activist with the Center for Public Democracy in California, was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. On a return flight from his trip to Washington, D.C. to protest the tax bill, he encountered Senator Jeff Flake and engaged in a moving conversation as he urged the Senator to vote against the bill. The Liman Center is honored that Ady Barkan was a graduate of Yale Law School and a Liman Fellow in in 2010-2011. The video of his encounter has gained nationwide publicity on CNN, Huffington Post, Think Progress, and the Arizona local news.
