Former CDC Director Mandy Cohen Speaks About the Changing Public Health Landscape
The Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at Yale Law School and the Yale School of Public Health hosted a conversation with Dr. Mandy Cohen MD ’05, MPH, on Sept. 4. Cohen served as the 20th director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and spoke about the challenges and opportunities for public health and health care in a period of major policy change.
The event drew interest from across the University and took place before a standing room-only audience in Yale Law School’s Levinson Auditorium. The panel included Dr. Cohen and the Dean of the Yale School of Public Health, C.-E. A. Winslow Professor of Public Health and Professor of Emergency Medicine Dr. Megan L. Ranney. Solomon Center Faculty Director and Alfred M. Rankin Professor of Law Abbe R. Gluck ’00 moderated the panel.
The event concluded with audience questions from students who represented an array of Yale’s schools and departments, including Yale Law School, the Yale School of Public Health, and the Yale School of Medicine.
