Kaplan Speaks on Ethical, Legal, & Social Issues in Cyberspace

Yale Solomon Center for Health Law & Policy affiliate Bonnie Kaplan, PhD, FACMI, of the Yale Center for Medical Informatics, was the only American invited to present a main paper a conference at the Brocher Foundation in Switzerland in June. She spoke on "A socio-technical view of Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues in Cyberspace" at the workshop on "Cybersecurity Challenges in Healthcare: Ethical, Legal and Social Aspects," organized by the CANVAS Consortium, an EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation that aims to unify technology developers with legal and ethical scholars and social scientists to approach the challenge of how cybersecurity can be aligned with European values and fundamental rights.
