Reva Siegel to Give Jorde Lecture at YLS, Nov. 14
Reva Siegel will give the keynote address of the 2005 Brennan Center Jorde Symposium, "Social Movement Conflict and Constitutional Change: The Case of the de facto ERA," on Monday, November 14, at 4:30 p.m. in Room 127. Comments following the speech will be given by our Sterling Professor Bruce Ackerman and Harvard Law School Professor Martha Minow.
The Brennan Center Jorde Symposium was inaugurated in 1996 and features distinguished scholars who have made major contributions to legal scholarship or jurisprudence. The series is named after Tom Jorde '72. Each year, the Jorde Symposium sponsors two lectures with a different pair of commentators. One lecture is held at the University of California at Berkeley and the other at another school. The Symposium is published annually in the California Law Review. Past Jorde Symposium keynote speakers have included Frank Michelman, Stephen Carter, Robert Post, Lee Bollinger, Bruce Ackerman, Kathleen Sullivan, Larry Kramer, and Geoffrey Stone.
