Yale Law School’s chapter of the Federalist Society (FedSoc) received the organization’s James Madison Award for Chapter of the Year. The award was presented at the National Student Symposium on March 10, 2018.

The Federalist Society is an organization of conservatives and libertarians that seeks to promote individual freedom, traditional values, and limited government.

“The award recognizes the chapter's vibrant intellectual community and continued commitment to excellence. Each year we bring in around forty judges, law professors, and lawyers to discuss legal issues. We also host a number of debates, provide professional support for our members, and host a weekly reading group, among many other activities,” said Sam Adkisson ’18, president of Yale’s FedSoc. “The Chapter of the Year award recognizes our chapter's one-of-a-kind community. We were grateful to receive the award and appreciate the many alumni, members, and chapter officers who made this success possible.”

According to the Federalist Society, the Chapter of the Year carries forward Madison's legacy by connecting its law school to the ideas of our founders.
