Yale Law School will host its second annual Giving Day on Thursday, Oct. 23.

During a 24-hour period, alumni can donate to important Yale Law School programs and causes while unlocking Giving Day Challenge funds that magnify the impact of their philanthropy. These gifts help the Law School broaden student access, bolster scholarship funds, and support the critical work of the Law School’s faculty, centers, and clinics. Last year’s inaugural Giving Day brought in $2,165,770 from more than 200 donors, whose gifts benefited more than 30 areas across the Law School.

"Your gift on Giving Day plays a direct role in sustaining the Law School experience — from robust financial aid to vibrant student programming, academic innovation, and so much more," said Kristen B. Rozansky, Associate Dean of Alumni Engagement & Development at Yale Law School. "You can help the Law School remain a place of opportunity, tradition, and impact — where students and faculty are empowered to explore, lead, and thrive. Giving Day is dedicated to Yale Law School alumni helping the Yale Law School community. A gift could hardly do more."

During Alumni Weekend, taking place Oct. 17–19, attendees will have an opportunity for early-access giving. There will also be a special lunch for students on Giving Day to highlight alumni’s generous philanthropy and deep commitment to the Law School.

The Giving Day website will be live from midnight on Oct. 23 until midnight on Oct. 24. Alumni can select from many initiatives at the Law School, including scholarship, clinics, centers, and student support. Donation challenges and matches will be a chance for individuals, classes, or committees to motivate more people to contribute to one large, cumulative gift — more than $1.7 million in challenge dollars have already been committed for this year’s Giving Day. Participants are encouraged to post about the event on social media using #YLSGivingDay to raise awareness and inspire others to support the Law School.
