Acclaimed authors Elyn Saks ’86 and Andrew Solomon will give a dean's lecture, speaking about their books: The Center Cannot Hold: Ethical Dimensions of My Journey through Madness by Saks and The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression by Solomon.

Andrew Solomon, author of Far from the Tree: Parents, Children, and the Search for Identity, is a writer and lecturer on politics, culture, and psychology, a Professor of Clinical Psychology at Columbia University Medical Center, and President of PEN American Center.

Elyn R. Saks, Orrin B. Evans Professor of Law, Psychology, and Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. She is also a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship winner.

The talk will be followed by  a reception in the Alumni Reading Room from 6:00-6:45.
