Edward Wong, diplomatic correspondent and former Beijing bureau chief for The New York Times, talks about his new book, "At the Edge of Empire: A Family’s Reckoning with China," a dual memoir of his father’s years in the People’s Liberation Army under Mao and Edward's own time in China covering dramatic changes from 2008 onward. The discussion, moderated by Paul Tsai China Center fellow Yangyang Cheng, will examine ambitions of the Chinese Communist Party and directions of US-China relations, including potential trajectories in a second Trump administration.
