This workshop will provide an overview of Excel and PowerPoint best practices that are vital to efficiency and speed in the production of financial models and other business deliverables commonly produced by Wall Street and other finance professionals. In particular, the following will be covered:
- Excel best practices
- Basic Excel setup including macro security, iterations & calculations settings
- Common "shortcut" keys and other navigating and efficiency tips
- Page setup functions
- Best practices for building formulas (auto sum, filling)
- Customizing toolbars in Excel (including adding icons to your toolbar)
- Navigating in Excel
- Shortcuts including autosum, advanced paste special functions, fill functionality, go to cells, repeat function, naming cells & effectively navigating between worksheets
- Excel foundations & efficiencies in formulating projections
- Fundamentals of formats including alignments & custom number formats including "text" with custom formatting
- Anchoring cells
- PowerPoint best practices
- Efficiently navigating PowerPoint using short-cut keys
- Workplace setup
- Alignment tools in PowerPoint
The February 2nd workshop will be taught by Angela Loregian, Ph.D., Mathematics for Financial Markets Analysis, from Training the Street. Angela was a former Senior Researcher, Instructor, and Consultant at ARPM LLC.
