Elizabeth ("Liz") Peters is Interim President at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation while the foundation searches for a permanent successor. She usually serves as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary where she is responsible for managing all of the foundation’s legal needs, as well as supporting the board on corporate governance matters.

Formerly, Liz worked at Caplin & Drysdale in Washington D.C., where her legal practice focused on representing non-profit institutions. Before she became an attorney, Liz was a director of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide and a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs.

Liz is a frequent speaker on non-profit legal topics impacting private foundations. She is also a co-author of several online legal courses on private foundation law available. She graduated phi beta kappa from Harvard University and earned her law degree from Yale Law School.
