Conference on Empirical Studies of Antisemitism

Date: June 5, 2025

Location: Yale University, New Haven CT

The Brodie Center for Jewish and Israeli Law at Yale Law School and the Yale Program for the Study of Antisemitism invite submissions for an interdisciplinary academic conference dedicated to empirical research on antisemitism. The conference aims to bring together scholars conducting rigorous empirical analyses of antisemitic attitudes, behaviors, and policies, and to foster interdisciplinary dialogue. Economists, political scientists, social psychologists and scholars from related empirical fields who have only recently begun to probe the subject are particularly encouraged to attend and submit. We welcome the presentation of paper outlines as well as completed drafts.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Determinants and consequences of antisemitic policies and discourse.
  • Identification of implicit antisemitism and “double standards”.
  • Empirical evaluations of interventions and policies combating antisemitism.
  • Quantitative analyses of antisemitism in contemporary political contexts.
  • Cross-national and regional analyses of antisemitic attitudes and behaviors.
  • Empirical studies on the relationship between antisemitism and antizionism.

We particularly encourage submissions employing rigorous quantitative methodologies, innovative datasets, and interdisciplinary frameworks.

Submission Guidelines:
  • Abstracts of no more than 300 words should clearly outline the research question, methodology, empirical results, and implications.
  • Submissions must include the title of the paper, author's name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and contact information.
  • Please send abstracts by April 15, 2025 to bcjil@yale.edu.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by May 1, 2025. Presenters will be expected to circulate paper outlines or draft papers by June 1, 2025.

Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

For further information, please contact Linda Maizels at linda.maizels@yale.edu. We look forward to your valuable contributions to this important scholarly dialogue.
