As Community Human Rights Fellow, Hana Karanja assists the Schell Center in promoting a vibrant human rights community and in developing human rights projects. She is interested in rights theory and questions of universality, compliance, and inclusion in the human rights framework. Hana graduated from Yale College in 2024, where she was a Humanities major and a member of the Multidisciplinary Academic Program in Human Rights. During her time as an undergraduate, she worked for the Yale Law Journal and the Yale Undergraduate Prison Project, and she co-founded the Yale Undergraduate Political Theory Reading Group. She has also published work in the Yale Review of International Studies and worked as a student mentor at the Writing Center and the Cultural Connections program.
