Jody L. Yetzer ’97, as well as other former law clerks of the Honorable Alvin W. Thompson, attended his portrait unveiling at the Federal Courthouse in Hartford.

Alvin W. Thompson ’78, the United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut, was honored with a portrait unveiling at Hartford's Federal Courthouse in May. Judge Thompson, who was appointed by former President Bill Clinton ’73 in October 1994, earned his J.D. from Yale Law School after earning his B.A. from Princeton in 1975.

The portrait, commissioned by Judge Thompson's law clerks, was painted by artist Daniel Mark Duffy. U.S. Circuit Judge Sarah A. L. Merriam ’00, Senator Richard Blumenthal ’73, and Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz gave remarks, as well as Deborah N. Archer ’96.

“It was so wonderful to see a man of such humility and greatness be honored in this way in the Courthouse," said Jody L. Yetzer ’97, a former clerk of Judge Thompson who was in attendance for the portrait unveiling. "Judge Thompson’s grace and deep sense of justice has made a lasting impression on hundreds of lives, including and especially his law clerks. I am forever grateful for his mentorship.”
