L. James Gordon ’53 Receives Ohio State Bar Honor

The Ohio State Bar Association recognized L. James Gordon ’53 for his 65 years of service to the legal profession. Gordon earned his law degree from Yale Law School in 1953 and was a member of the Order of the Coif.

He spent his career at Newark firm Morrow, Gordon, and Byrd specializing in estate planning, business law and tax law and was included in “Who’s Who in Law in the Midwest.”

He has served the legal community as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the American College of Trial Lawyers, and the Ohio Bar Foundation as well as Chairman of the OSBA Negligence Law Committee, President of the Licking County Bar Association, and an Advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocates.

He has also been a leader in the community, serving as President of the Newark Kiwanis, Granville Rotary Club, United Way of Licking County, Granville School Board, Granville Foundation, and the Licking County Mental Health Association.
