Student Roundtable on the American Student Experience in China after the Pandemic

Oct. 16, 2024
12:10PM - 1:00PM
Baker Room 434
Open to the YLS Community Only

In 2019, one year before the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, 12,000 American students studied at universities in some capacity in China. Five years later, fewer than 1,000 are. Academic exchange has played a critical role in promoting goodwill and understanding between the United States and China, and the precipitous drop in American students in the country has come at the exact moment when the relationship needs them the most.

Please join 1Ls Tal Feldman and Harry Seavey, Americans who studied in China during the 2021-2022 and 2023-2024 academic years, to discuss the environment for Americans studying in China after the pandemic and in the midst of the turbulent relationship between U.S.-China, as well as the importance of academic exchange in the U.S.-China relationship moving forward.

Lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
