Private Funds Conference: Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Venture Capital

This one-day conference on private funds featured keynote addresses by Nobel-Prize winning economist Oliver Hart and leading private equity lawyer and Vice Chairman of Pershing Square Capital Management Stephen Fraidin. The conference considered private funds from several perspecitves, including economics, law, and sociology. It was sponsored by the Kirkland & Ellis Fund for the Study of Private Law.

The Internet and Access to Justice

The Center, together with the Information Society Project, sponsored an event on the Internet and access to justice. The speakers were Ben Kinney, Founder and CEO of CrowdSuit; Eva Shang, Co-founder of Legalist, which uses algorithms to predict case outcomes and decide whether to fund parties; and Kip Wainscott, Head of Legal and External Relations at CrowdJustice, a crowdfunding platform designed for public interest litigation.
