After the Interview

After the Interview

  • Immediately after the interview concludes, make notes about the experience. Topics could include
    • the names and roles of people with whom you met who were not on your original schedule
    • what you talked about with individuals
    • your impressions of people and the employer
    • new information about the employer or its clients
    • details about the employer’s hiring timeline and what you can expect next
    • follow-up tasks you agreed to do
  • Later that day or the next morning, review CDO’s advice to decide whether to send thank-you email messages to the people with whom you interviewed.
  • Follow up to inquire about the status of your candidacy about a week or so after interviewing, if you wish. For more information about the offer and acceptance process, refer to CDO's Responding to Offers advice.
