Right of Publicity Workshop

On October 17, 2015, the Information Society Project and the Floyd Abrams Institute for Freedom of Expression hosted a workshop to address developments in right of publicity law.

The discussion encompassed the current state of right of publicity law; an introduction to the current relationship of the right of publicity to copyright, trademark, and privacy principles; and First Amendment theories relevant to thinking about the right of publicity, including the nature of the “right.”

Support for this workshop was provided by the Information Society Project, the Floyd Abrams Institute for Freedom of Expression, and the Oscar M. Reubhausen Fund.
