The discourse shaping the Constitutional Law in the European Union is defined by pluralism, with differences of opinion reverberating throughout a public sphere composed of a growing number of scholars. Increasingly, the exchange between these scholars takes place on social media platforms like Twitter and blogs such as the Verfassungsblog. This has led to a shift in the constitutional culture, with scholarly interventions being drawn into the vortex of politics, giving rise to a controversy over the proper task of constitutional scholarship.
