In 2021, SEIU District 1199NE retained the Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic to examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on nursing home workers in Connecticut. Using both qualitative and quantitative primary research, students drafted a report analyzing the extraordinarily difficult work conditions these workers faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and highlighting the failure of Governor Ned Lamont and the Connecticut Department of Public Health to adequately regulate the industry during this crisis.
