Yuval’s research interests are Comparative Constitutional Law, Election Law, and the Law of Democracy. His J.S.D. dissertation aims to focus on contemporary challenges of Election Law, including: the growing dominance of illiberal political players in democracies, and the possibility of using the concept of militant democracy in this regard; difficulties in verifying information vital for democratic discourse, especially due to technological changes; and the impact of national emergencies, such as armed conflicts, on the ability to secure fair elections.
