Shubhangi is a J.S.D. candidate at Yale Law School from India, where she also obtained her LL.M. degree in 2024. At Yale, she served as a Senior Editor of the Yale Journal of International Law and a Resident Fellow at the Information Society Project. She is a dual-qualified attorney, admitted in New York and India, and has practiced in both jurisdictions, including with a leading US firm in its commercial and corporate litigation and international arbitration practice. Apart from private practice she has served as a legal consultant to a sovereign state and the United Nations International Law Commission. She is also the recipient of the Streicker Fund (Yale Law School), Helton Fellowship (American Society on International Law) and the Don Lavoie Fellowship (Mercatus Centre).
Her research examines how laws endure, and are reshaped by, drastic ruptures in the political regimes that sustain them. Her other research and teaching interests include private law, international law, dispute resolution, legal theory and interdisciplinary methodologies.
