Chia-Yun Po is a J.S.D. candidate at Yale Law School from Taiwan, where she also received her LL.M. in 2025. Before coming to Yale, she was a research fellow at Harvard University’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies. Her writing has appeared in The Diplomat and the Foreign Policy Research Institute, and she has commented for Deutsche Welle on Russia’s nuclear diplomacy and long-term nuclear energy dependence.
Her academic interests lie in international law, global security, legal theory, Russian and Eurasian legal history, and the history of the postwar international order. Her dissertation examines the relationship between peace, equality, and hierarchy in modern international law, with particular attention to how legal institutions have reconciled sovereign equality with unequal structures of security and power.
